Can REP AI discuss products without adding them to cart? Yes
Yes: REP AI has a separate Add-to-cart switch for each product group, so items like auction lots or made-to-order pieces stay fully answerable in chat while the AI never adds them to a cart. Set it in Catalog › Product groups; the strictest setting wins, and products that join the group later inherit the rule on their next catalog sync.

One switch per product group
Some products are for discussing, not for selling: auction lots, made-to-order pieces and store-only items. One switch on the group covers every product inside it. Browsable and Add-to-cart are separate switches. So these lots stay fully answerable, while the cart stays closed.
Strictest setting wins
Each lot's own switch now reads off and says which group did it. One blocking group is enough, the strictest setting always wins.
New items inherit on sync
Lots that join the group later inherit the rule on their next catalog sync. Nobody has to come back and flip anything.
Answered, never added
In chat, the AI still describes the lot, quotes the price, and points to the product page. The block is enforced on our server, not just in the prompt, so it holds even when the model slips.
Common questions
Can I stop REP AI from adding certain products to the cart?
Yes. Turn off Add-to-cart on a product group in Catalog › Product groups, and the AI won't add any product in that group to a shopper's cart.
Will the AI still answer questions about those products?
Yes. Browsable is a separate switch, so the AI still describes the product, quotes the price and points to the product page.
What if a product is in two groups with different settings?
One blocking group is enough: the strictest setting always wins.
